Chapter Seven: Innocent and Necessary

Jodie comes back into the living room and quietly has a seat nearby. Her eyes gaze upon me momentarily before she turns her attention to a hummingbird just outside the living room window where a feeder is hanging. She doesn’t seem to be all that eager to begin the conversation, so I decide it would be best for me to say something.

“How long has it been going on?”

My wife turns her attention to me. “That’s not important, Scott.”

“It’s important to me,” I tell her. “How long have the two of you been having sex?” My cock hardens a little as I recall seeing Cayden’s long member buried deep inside Jodie’s bare pecan. I’ve had plenty of horny dreams that are similar to what I saw, but not once have I thought it would ever be possible I would actually see her with another man in this way.

My wife presses her lips together for a moment before telling me, “The first time was the day before you woke up from the coma.”

I laugh. “Holy shit. You couldn’t even wait to see whether I would actually make it out of the coma, could you?”

“It wasn’t planned or anything like that, Scott. Cayden took me to get something to eat because I had sat in the hospital room the entire time with very little to eat or drink. Your mom told me I should enjoy a meal, so we went to the hospital cafeteria. Unfortunately, it was closed from two to four in the afternoon, so Cayden offered to take me to a little restaurant nearby. After we ate, he took me to the house, and I took a shower. Things just went from there.”

“Holy shit.” I shake my head as I look at Jodie. “How could my wife, so concerned for her badly injured husband, fuck another guy just a couple of days after that beating?”

“It wasn’t planned,” she tells me for a second time. “Scott, I don’t expect you to understand, but this has all been about a need that I’ve had for a while. I think I have been suppressing it and it came out after you were no longer there for me.”

“Oh, so it’s my fault?” I say incredulously. “That’s a damn story, Jo. Really, it is.”

She closes her eyes tightly. “I wish you wouldn’t call me Jo. You always call me Jodie.”

“You like that name, though, don’t you? Cayden calls you Jo.”

“Please, Scott. You don’t understand.”

“I understand that I just came home and found my wife getting fucked by a man who was supposedly my rescuer. That doesn’t sit well with most husbands, my love. Not at all.”

“And I get that,” she continues. “It was a necessary thing for me, though. And honestly, it was pretty innocent if you consider I wasn’t seeking to replace you with him, Scott.”

“Necessary?” I say with a chuckle. “Innocent?” Her choice of words cause me to smirk as I look into my wife’s eyes.
